Fortunately we can control what we put in our mouths as well as what products we use in our homes. When you go out in public you may be around people who wear heavy perfumes or use hair sprays with chemicals that you have a reaction to. Be careful about taking bubble baths and look at what's in your cleaning products. You'll be surprised that there are a lot of long chemical names you are not familiar with.

Try to have plants around the home that will give you more oxygen to inhale. We absorb through our skin, our inhalations and taste. Check out what you use to clean your furniture, wash the floor and freshen the air. Are you using fabric softener when you do laundry? Use an eco friendly alternative. You can find products in the health food store and go green section of the supermarket that are hypoallergenic and tested. Some forms of eczema run in families where there are allergies and asthma. By eliminating some of the questionable cleaners

and substances we put on our bodies we can help with atopic eczema and other forms of dermatitis.

Don't forget, it's also fun to make your own products from scratch with natural ingredients. It's a great activity for the family and kids enjoy this as well.
