Hottest Axe Commercial Ever

By:

From the same company that brought feminine values crashing down like Jenga blocks comes one of the self-proclaimed Hottest Commercial Ever!

Axe deodorant, or widely known as simply Axe, has had quite a history of marketing campaigns which tests the boundaries of television censorship. Feeding on the unrelenting masculine preoccupation with sex, the commercials usually feature an average Joe getting mauled by a wave of sexy beautiful women. The cause? Choosing to use Axe deodorant of course.

No one really needs to do research or conduct an exhaustive study to conclude how these commercials have a tendency to offend a lot of women. Its more than obvious that luscious and curvaceous girls acting like a pack of wild boars (hey! that rhymes with) seem to objectify women to the point of being seen as sex dolls that just so happens to live and breath. After all those years of advocating feminism, this is still what the world results to (oh, darn).

In a more indirect way of subjectifying the male specie, these commercials can be considered as misleading. As seen in the commercial, the domesticated, and albeit homely and boorish, female is somehow liberated by the scent of Axe Deodorant Body Spray. The three scantily clad vixens, of course, represents an olfactory inhibitor, while the woman ironing who is dressed like a maid is, well, an old maid. Its wrong to think a liberated woman is someone who is as horny as a man. As we can all see from how the old maid strips off her clothes, tears down the walls, and then suddenly becomes a really hot chick, she is not only stripping her clothes, but her cramped and domesticated way of life as well. While most of us men would actually like it if women were liberated in the same fashion, sadly it isnt so. In our day and age, a woman is only considered liberated if she either becomes a nagging and annoying and a do-it-yourself-because-were-all-equal-you-MAN! type of woman, or a slut. Though the woman in the commercial may have some slut-like qualities, who are we to say that she just so happens to really like the guy, right?

It may be all in good fun, youd probably look more like a fool for taking anything like this seriously (some might even say that exaggeration is a form of parody), but I sure would hate to be the guy who actually believes this fantasy. Im willing to bet theres quite a number out there.
