Hotels in Topeka, Kansas: Topeka has a great Kansas Museum of History and inside the building they have a lovely area that is 'hands on' for the children. Here there is a good prairie collection and there is a steam locomotive to view. So if you like history and want to have a good time with the whole family this is a great place to go.

There is a zoo, called Topeka Zoological Park, which is small but well kept and will be loved by children. If you visit the Kansas State Capitol Building then it is worth while going to the top of the dome, the tour is good and informative. Ward Meade Park has many things to see and among these are original log cabins, a southern style mansion and an early 20th Century town.

This is all set in 6 acres and there is also a nice botanical garden to see and walk around. Combat Air Museum is as it says really and here you can see military aircraft with the twist of seeing some of the space shuttle program; this makes a great day out and there are different things, so children will not get bored.

For a faster thing to watch there is the Heartland Park Topeka which is all about speed from the drag strip to a Grand Prix road course and so you can see that is on while you are here.
