Hot Makeup Color Trends For The Coming Season

What are the hot colors in makeup this season? Whether you live in New York or Tokyo, it's all about color right now.

Big, bold color that gets noticed. The key is using it sparingly and pairing it with otherwise subdued makeup.

Here are just a few of the season's most popular looks that can help you look good and beautiful:

Turquoise - it's showing up everywhere! The beachy shade looks refreshing even miles from the shore. It looks great as an eye shadow, especially if you have brown eyes or olive skin.

You could also try out this daring shade by getting a turquoise eye pencil and using it instead of your usual black.

If that's not for you, try a slightly shimmery turquoise nail color or an accessory like a scarf or necklace.

Coral - Here's another one to put you on island time! Coral looks great on just about every skin tone and celebrities have recently been seen sporting it as a blush or lip color.

Swipe some on your cheeks, two fingers from either side of your nose (on what we call the 'apples' of your cheeks) and you'll instantly look trendy!

Neon - Remember the 90's? Of course you do! Just think back to hot pink socks and greens so bright they practically glowed in the dark on shirts, sunglasses, and those ubiquitous "slap" bracelets.

Neon is making a come back in nail color. Whether it's the fresh-looking hot pink or a funky bright yellow, pair it with a black dress or an understated outfit and you're ready for a night of reminiscing.

Red - I know. 'How can red be trendy?' you're wondering. But red lips have been all over the runway this season from designers like Isaac Mizrahi.

Anything goes with this trend, from crimson to orange-based tones. Pair it with another of the season's biggest looks - natural, subdued makeup - and you won't look overdone.

One final piece of advice: these looks are not all to be used at once! Like all trends, you should pick one you want to try and mix it with classics that you already love. The important thing is that you won't be afraid to try new things or colors in your wardrobe and makeup. It's always hip to be trendy.
