. Its one of the fastest growing fields out there for medical students. Many medical students are trying to enter this program since its an appealing field. Hospitalist is a field that is general like emergency medicine where the physician has to be trained in all topics. The training can be from adult to child to surgery. Hospitalists are physicians that work at the hospital. They do not work in a private office or clinic. They only treat patients at the hospital.

Hospitalist is a branch of medicine that deals with all types of patients that are in the hospital. The hospitalist will not be working anywhere outside of the hospital. They will be dealing with daily treatment of patients in the hospital particularly. This is why the branch is called hospitalist. Hospitalist physician has to like the hospital environment because that is where they will do their training. There are some physicians who like to get away from the hospital environment once theyre finished with residency.

The working environment will be in the hospital. The environment is often more on the graphic side. You will get to see everything that is going on in the hospital. There are some physicians who like to have their own practice but this is not the case when youre a hospitalist. You will not be working by yourself. You will be working with a lot of other people. You will have someone above you. You will be working with management and other doctors. You will be working with a lot of other health professionals. If youre someone who likes to be his own boss then you wont have that opportunity as a hospitalist. You will be working with so many other people all the time. Its not possible. This is why you have to think about it before you apply for residency.

Hospitalist will be working around treatment, management and operation. This is a new branch so there will be management and operation in your academic curriculum. Hospitalist branch was found in 1996. Its fairly new to medicine. Hospitalists can choose to go into internal medicine, family practice or pediatrics. Hospitalists are physicians who want fewer work load and they want to give up their business. Hospitalists are hired sometimes as on-call doctors. They can be there for after hours. Patients can call them for questions after hours. Patients see a hospitalist during an ER interview or hospital stay. The hospitalists can also make arrangement for all other follow-up care for their patients. Nowadays, you might be seen by a hospitalist when you're in the hospital. They will be interviewing you and getting your care done. The hospitalist will arrange all care for patients while they are in the hospital and he will use all of the resources to give the patients the best care that they need. Hospitalist physicians will have to like the hospital environment and the demanding patients. Patients in the hospital are demanding. They are not like the patients that come to a normal clinics. They are really ill and they can be more demanding. You will have to be comfortable working with a lot of people and patients.
