Horse Riding Holiday Centres With Hacking And Trekking

By:

Horse riding is a significant and growing pastime, and both riding and driving is particularly active in the United Kingdom. In fact more than 2.4 million people in Great Britain ride regularly, and many more ride occasionally as a weekend or holiday activity.

Horse riding is becoming increasingly popular in Scotland, through participation in traditional activities such as hacking and pony-trekking, and in newer activities such as holiday-riding courses, and endurance riding.

Riding is a mature pass time in Poitou-Charentes offering differing rides for experienced and not so, young and old. There are guided group tours and also unguided rides (or hacks) for experienced riders.

Cyprus is another location where holiday riding is popular. Thousands of people from around the world visit the island each year to relax in the sumptuous surroundings of the Cypriot countryside.

It is also pretty important in Menorca, and there is a special breed of Menorca horse, usually a black horse but may come in some other colors, and all are tall thin and elegant. They are most impressive and beautiful animals, and are usually broken in very carefully in Menorca.

Horse riding is a high risk activity whether you hack out on roads and bridleways or are a three day eventer. Horses are flight animals, can be unpredictable and are a lot stronger than any human being!

Horse riding is also very much a jerky, bouncy activity that can put a lot of strain on the ligaments that support the womb. Horse riding is a physically demanding sport, and, as such, one which requires participants to have a good level of fitness.

If you have a reasonable level of fitness already then this is half the battle, but you should be aware that when you take up riding you will be using muscles you are not used to using and therefore you should try and improve your fitness accordingly. Equestrian activities are frequently not permitted around the old archaeological sites such as Iron Age Camps, and other ecologically or geomorphologically sensitive areas.

Hacks can be chosen in various lengths. Depending on your ability and fitness, an hour or so may be just fine. You will also burn calories. Hacking out burns up approximately 40 calories per 10 minutes or 240 calories per hour. Mucking out, we are told, burns up 80 calories per 10 mins or 480 calories per hour.

Riders that have never been horse back riding before do not have to fear that they will be incapable of navigating the routes of these hacks, as beginners riding lessons are usually given at the Horse central riding facility. Riders at all good stables are encouraged to travel at their own pace, according to skill level, and there are predetermined meeting points to regroup.

The best of the rides will allow you to trek through up to 1000 acres of dedicated riding country (which including outdoor arenas spaces and small obstacle courses), you'll see many varieties of animals and species of bird life plus lots of wildflowers along the way, when horse trekking.

Choose your attire wisely. Boots or shoes with a small heel and smooth sole are best. Boots can be short (jophur boots) or full length. The most comfortable footwear is often short boots and half chaps - chaps keep the stirrup leathers from chaffing and bruising your legs.
