Hope Floats - For Local Brick And Mortar Business

By:

No one has been untouched by the recent recession, including Local Brick and Mortar Business. Maybe you or a family member are a victim or know someone who either owns or worked for one of these struggling or failed businesses. Some in my circle of friends sure feel it!

It seems more and more of these businesses quietly close their doors. And those who remain open are operating with hope and prayer that business will pick up soon!

In my observation most of these Local Brick and Mortar Businesses are not even sure what or how to increase or preserve their existing business.

They understand they must market and advertise to survive. Yet, with modest marketing budgets of $500 to $2000.00 per month, they willingly persist to relying on traditional advertising to bring in new customers and coax others to return, as they concede to marginally modest results.

Many, I talk to express, With a 10-15% increase in business they could weather the storm. Of course in denial, no new actions, produce, no new results!

I find most have an website they are unhappy with. They either built it themselves or were sold the Field of Dreams story Build it and they will come! Either way their site is lost in the search engines, never to be found!

When I suggest theres hope and they should allocate a percentage of their current marketing budget to social media marketing and web 2.0 properties to gain the benefits of raving fans and customers, and as a result, could easily increase their business 10-15 % over a short period of time, as well as dominate the natural search engine results in their local niche market, and gain further by maintaining a connection, carrying on an ongoing conversation with those customers on how they benefit from your special offers and events.

Welllets just say I get THE LOOK! I know what theyre thinking What has this guy been smoking, Im trying to run a business here!

I know they think Im a NUT-JOB I cant help myself! I just smile, and quietly leave them a business card, and Im on my way!

Ill follow up in a few days when theyve had time to ponder the NUT-JOB wisdom!
