Gaining popularity in the 1970s the continued success of pile carpeting points to its low cost durability and versatility. It is often uniform in bright color constructed in a cut and loop, or knotted yarn pile that creates a very thick, rich surface. This carpets super luxurious feel makes it a choice in areas of the home where people live close to the floor or in the bathroom near the showers. The 'Frieze' one kind of pile carpet is great for high traffic areas with its short fibers made from durable material that curls, giving it strength, and making it crush-resistant.

Hooked Rug Hooked rug construction is similar to crocheting. Used in the lower traffic areas in the home such as bathroom or home offices, and hand made by pulling strips of almost any kind of material through a mesh this kind of carpet will last a lifetime and can be laundered endlessly.
