The Broadway Theatre district is a popular tourist attraction and a haven for upcoming theater actors that want to make it big in the business of theater in New York City, New York. According to The Broadway League, Broadway shows sold approximately $1.02 billion worth of event tickets in the 2009-2010 seasons. This is not a surprise after all when you go to New York you would see long lines of people wanting to get event tickets to watch show at Broadway.

If you are interested in being a theater actor and chances are that you have a goal of becoming a Broadway actor, which I think, is the ultimate goal of any theater actor. Indeed, Broadway is the pinnacle of success in the United States for any method of acting, be it musicals, or plays no wonder that people are lining to get event tickets to watch Broadway. However, before you decide to head to New York City to fulfill your dream of becoming a Broadway actor, here are some tips to ponder:

Train at the best schools available and learn your craft the best you can putting dedication and your heart into it. Consider high schools for the performing arts, acting conservatories, universities and private coaching to have a great edge over at casting and hone your skills. Learning they say is a continuous process so continue to learn from your trainings.

Watch Broadway musicals after getting event tickets and learn from great actors how they tackle their role and incorporate that to your performance just remember to develop your own style and identity.

You must be good at all aspects of Broadway skills like dancing, singing and acting. Evaluate your weakest point and improve it. Make sure you have everything at best; remember that in auditions you are competing with some of the greats of Broadway it's important to have great arsenals with your talents.

Don't be discouraged and feel bad like it's the end of the world for you if you didn't get a role. Remember that auditioning is a part of the job and not landing one role doesn't determine your worth. Learn from mistakes and assess your audition performance if did great accept criticism and take it positively.

Hire an agent to book you for big auditions and to have connections. While you can get to Broadway on your own, it's very difficult if you're not yet familiar with the business of Broadway. Agents will have a percentage of your salary which is legal.
