Honda Used Cars- The Pilot

By:

When Hondas high end brand Acura launched a mid-size crossover SUV (the MDX) in 2000-2001, it only made sense for Honda to launch its own crossover utility vehicle in 2002. Honda used cars like the Pilot have become one of the best reselling crossover utility vehicles in North America and this is due to the fact they put great quality and reliability into all its different vehicles. The Pilot was developed to compete and take market share away from such popular brands like the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Explorer and the Toyota 4Runner. My research will be on the Honda Pilot as a used vehicle to look at.

All Honda Pilot models seat eight people with options to have either all-wheel drive or front wheel drive. Some of the safety features that the Honda Pilot has to offer are, front side airbags, curtain side air bags, ABS brakes, traction control and an antiskid platform system. The second and third row seats spilt into a 60/40 folding benches. Some other options the Honda Pilot has to offer are a DVD base touch screen with GPS navigation and a rear seat DVD entertainment system.

I could only find one fuel statistic from the years from 2003 to 2009. The fuel rating I found for the Honda pilot was 14-litres, per 100km for city driving and 9.5-litres, per 100km, for highway driving.

The Honda Pilot uses the same engine as there high end Acura MDX uses. This was a V6, 3.5-litre engine and this produced 240 horsepower. It used the Acuras MDX five speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive platform. It also added in 2007 a front wheel drive option to the Honda Pilot, giving it more options for the North American consumer.

Lets look at some of the pros and cons of the Honda Pilot as a used crossover utility vehicle:

1-When researching on the Honda Pilot I went to a web forum that suggested that many owners complained of water leaking inside the back row seats.
2-From the same web forum many owners complained of vibration coming from the steering wheel when driving on the highway.
3-From the same web forum many Honda Pilot owners complain that the metal used on the vehicle is easy to dent.
4-A leading online consumer watch dog gave the Honda Pilot a great rating for a used vehicle to buy.

I hope this helps if youre looking at Honda used cars like the Honda Pilot.
