Honda Used Cars- The Element As A Used Crossover

By:

The Honda Motor Corporation makes many vehicles for all the different segments of the auto industry and seems to maintain a great name for the quality they put in all their vehicles. Its also been pointed out to me that Honda used cars are also one of the best vehicles for reliability and this of course is a major factor when looking at your next used vehicle to buy. I decided to focus on the Honda Element because of it unique shape and its cross over attributes as both a car and truck all wrapped in one.

Inside the Honda Elements cabin is a spacious four seated cross over that includes cargo space. The rear seats are flip ups that fold flat to give even more space for larger items that may need to fit in the cargo area. The LX has a four speaker AM/FM radio with CD player and the EX/SC trims come with AM/FM radio, CD player with MP3/WMA capabilities, auxiliary input for other MP3 audio device, seven speakers, steering wheel audio controls and a dynamic linear subwoofer. Some safety features that the Honda Element has to offer are its Electronic Stability Control platform, four wheel disk brake with ABS and Electronic Brake Distribution. It also offers front side air bags for both driver and passenger, and a side curtain airbag system with rollover sensors for the rear seats.

I found two different fuel statistics for the Honda Element. In 2003 the fuel rating for the front wheel drive transmission was 10.5-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 8.2-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The all wheel driving transmission had a fuel rating of 11.0-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 8.8-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. In 2009 the all wheel drive transmission had a fuel rating of 11.0-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 8.3-litres, per 100km, for highway driving.

The Honda Element uses the same engine as the Honda CR-V. Element models before 2007 used a 2.4-litre engine that produced 159 horsepower with 159 pounds, per feet of torque. In 2007 the horsepower increased to 166 hp with 161 pounds, per feet of torque.

Lets look at some of the pros and cons of the Honda Element as a used cross over vehicle:

1-A leading online consumer watchdog gave the Honda Element a better than average used vehicle.
2-There are problems with rear brakes that may corrode earlier than expected and can cause wear on the pads and rotors.
3-The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave a good rating for a frontal and side impact crash test done to it.

I hope this helps if youre looking at Honda used cars like the Element.
