Honda Used Cars- The Accord

By:

Honda used cars like the Accord, has long been one of Hondas bestselling vehicles. For over thirty years it has been on the roads of North America and both Canadians and Americans cant get enough of this vehicle. The Honda Accord can brag that it is one of the most reliably built vehicles on the road today and that these cars are built to last long. These vehicles are hard to find used, so I wanted to research and see why these vehicles are in such demand. I will be focusing on Honda Accords built from the years 2003 to 2007.

Honda Accord used cars:

The 2003 model was the Accords seventh generation in North America and arguably had the most changes done to the vehicle. The Accords interior is very stylish and sleek; I looked at a model from 2006 and was very impressed. It had nice grey charcoal leather seats and the speedometer and engine gauges had a very sporty look to them. The center console was easy to read and use because of the space it was given in the interior design. The accord comes standard with your typical power steering, am/fm radio, heat/air, ABS brakes and a CD player.

I found several fuel statistics for the various models the Accord has to offer. The four cylinder has a fuel rating of 9.5-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 6.4-liter, per 100km for highway driving. The V6 models have a fuel rating of 11.5-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 7.3-litre, per 100km for highway driving. The 2006 fuel rating of the Honda Accord Hybrid was 9.5-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 6.4-litre, per 100km for highway driving. For both the four cylinder and V6 models the statistic was same for both automatic and manual transmissions.

There are several different engine sizes for the models from 2003 to 2007. The 2003 four cylinder had a 2.4-litre engine, which had 160 horsepower and the V6 model had a 3.0-litre engine, which had 240 horsepower under the hood. In 2005 the Honda Accord hybrid was added to the line up and this was paired with a V6 engine and electric motor, it produced 255 horsepower.

Lets look at the pros and cons of the Honda Accord as a used vehicle:

1-There are problems with the five speed automatic transmission which involves the small bearings overheating.
2- The radio and heating/air display stops showing on the screen. This however does not affect the actual functions of the radio or the heating/air working properly.
3-The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave it a five star rating for a side impact crash test done to it.

I hope this helps if youre thinking of buying a used Honda Accord.
