The fourth of July is another day we Americans can't just wait. The day we celebrate our Independence Day from the Kingdom of Great Britain on July 4, 1776. We can't wait to greet our fellow Americans, Happy 4th of July and celebrate the day with parades, fireworks, parties and so on.

Traditionally, Independence Day is commonly associated with parades, barbecues, fireworks, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, political ceremonies, public speeches and private gatherings. Today, most Americans continue to honor the tradition and celebrate the honors of our Declaration of Independence. But would it be nice to bring the zest back into the celebration of our country's independence?

Celebrate the birth of freedom with the following tips and lists of Independence Day Homemade Gift Ideas.

Create personalized and handmade patriotic shirts showing the flag of America or the likes. Use paints or emulsion glues for a better design. You may also buy in local stores were printed shirts are on sale. Give these shirts to your family and friends and wear them on the 4th of July.

If you have plenty of time, ask some friends or even bring your own family to sites where freedom flourished. You can visit Boston's freedom trail and retrace the steps of Ben Franklin. Read the Declaration of Independence and honor the Founding Fathers or United States.

If you're good in baking and cooking, create homemade Stars and Stripes treats like patriotic cookies and sweets. Creating an American Flag cake is also good, or you may customize your design and use Uncle Sam's hat or portrait. You have thousands of designs to think of. You may also gather your friends and family and celebrate the Independence Day together. Throw an old-time barbecue party for friends and family. Grill pork strips, steaks, hamburgers, hotdogs, marshmallows, sing patriotic song and wave flags.

Create homemade medals, certificates or stone monuments and ward people who you thought made an impact to improve the lives of Americans. Fashion a short speech with what they did and give them the title "Great American". I highly suggest this if you have friends or if someone in the family is on Navy or if there is a war veteran. Trophies can be given to public servant or someone who took the name of America in greatness.

Organize a pyromusical piece and share it with everyone. You may use the national anthem as a background song. If you are not good with fireworks you may buy one. If there are children in your home, you may make a battery operated sparkles for them to enjoy without the risk of accidents.

Create a play of the past using homemade costumes. You may also ask your neighbors to have a costume party using the revolutionary period dresses. Serve foods and drinks popular during that time.

Independence Day is not just another day. Not just an annual holiday but a day we must celebrate with a blast as we honor those who died fighting with fervor and honor so we can experience freedom the American way.
