Home Security Cameras-two Or More Greatly Increases The Security Of Your Home

By:

One in six homes gets burglarized every year according to police statistics. What that means is that if you stay in your home for six years, on average, your home will become a statistic and you will be burglarized. A new and growing threat to the security of your home is a home invasion.

Home invasions are much more violent and threatening to you and your family. A burglary is done when the bad guy knows there's nobody at home. Home invasions are done when the occupants are home.

It seems burglaries become more popular as the economy worsens. There is all sorts of anecdotal evidence to show that it does. Did you know that 60 percent of all home burglaries occur through unlocked doors and windows and that police tell us that nearly 90 percent of all home burglaries can be prevented? Homeowners make it too easy for the bad guys.

So if you take some simple steps you can 'harden your home' as a target to make it less attractive to the bad guys. The first thing you should do is lock your doors and windows. Then either start or join a 'neighborhood watch' program. Remove hiding places around lower level doors and windows.

Install some motion activated spotlights to brighten otherwise darkened areas around your home. And put a sign in your front yard warning of a vicious guard dog. You don't even need dog. Just a sign.

Believe it or not burglars look for things like that when they case a neighborhood. They want as little resistance as possible when they pick a target. So if they see some of these signs on your house they are bound to go somewhere else. Exactly what you want!

But there is no doubt that you can improve your home security by leaps and bounds by installing some home security cameras. You can get a surveillance dome style or bullet style camera for less than $125. Some are even $100.00 or less.

You should have one by the front door and one by the back door and maybe one in a side yard. A burglar who sees security cameras around the home has to be absolutely nuts to consider burglarizing your home. He is definitely going somewhere else.

That's why you should have more than one security camera. Two or more of them greatly increases the security of your home. Isn't a $200.00-$300.00 investment worth it for your $200,000 plus home?

If you want to record those images. You need some kind of recording device like a DVR or VCR . Otherwise all you can do is monitor what the camera sees on your TV screen.

Is there is any doubt in your mind about your vulnerability for home invasion or home security just watch the evening news? There's bound to be a story about a home invasion or burglary in your town.

When are you getting one?
