Home Remedies For Acne Skin

All is not lost. If you have oily skin that is prone to acne, here are 7 beauty tips to help keep the pimples away.

I got that tip from a doctor. I washed my face when I woke up, at lunch time and at bedtime with a cleanser that is meant for skin that has acne. My skin cleared when I stuck to the routine and used only skin care products meant for skin with acne. A bar of soap meant for washing your face does the trick just as well.

Tea tree oil is a home remedy believed by many to help treat acne. Tea tree oil works by killing the bacteria that causes acne. Apply this essential oil directly to affected areas.

Aloe Vera is a natural antibiotic that has a wonderful soothing quality, will cleans your skin and can help with inflammation. Apply Aloe Vera gel directly to your skin.

Protect your skin from sunlight and avoid tanning booths. Tanning only masks your acne and it doesn't clear it. Wear sunscreens and avoid getting sunburn. Some acne treatments can increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight.

Because food grown in nutrient-depleted soil can be depleted of essential vitamins and minerals, it is important to add a supplement or two to your diet. Start with a multivitamin suitable for your age and sex, and then add some extra vitamin A (so that you are consuming about 10,000 IU daily) and the vitamin B complex. Primrose oil (500 milligrams) and flaxseed oil (1,000 milligrams) are both very beneficial for the skin.

Keep your towels and pillowcases washed and clean, they are absorbent and can absorb the oil from your hair and distribute it to your face.

Never pick the pimples - that will transfer dirt from fingernails, and make things worse, also will more than likely leave scars.

Apply lemon juice to pimples. Lemon juice is an effective overnight remedy to treat pimples because it contains alpha hydroxy acids, an ingredient that is in many expensive skin care products. To use it as an overnight treatment, first wash your face with a gentle face cleanser. Pour or squeeze 1 tsp. lemon juice into a bowl. If you have sensitive skin, also pour 1 tsp. water into the bowl and mix it with the lemon juice. Use a cotton ball to absorb the liquid, and apply the mixture to your pimples. Leave the lemon juice on your skin overnight. Wash it off in the morning.
