If you were to be asked if you were ready to face a fire, what would be your answer? If you have everything prepared and ready to grab in the event of a fire, then you would be able to say yes and if you don't have this stuff packed and ready, then you aren't . What we mean by ready is having some advanced warning system in your home and an escape plan in your head and some bags of personal belongings packed. With all of this in play, you will have a much better chance of getting out of your home if there is a fire .

In this bag of your belongings, make sure that you have a list or even your little black book with all of the names of the people and companies that you will need to get a hold of in case you lose everything in this fire. You might want to put in a couple changes of clothes because the one you will have on will smell like smoke. Your body will be dirty from all of this smoke and the soot from this fire, and you will want to go have a bath after you have been checked out by the local paramedics that will be on the scene to check you for cuts and burns.

So in this bag, you might want to pack some shampoo and creme rinse and a bar of soap. Your neighbor might let you come into their home to clean up and stay there until you can get a hold of some family member or find some place to stay until you can think of what to do. As most fires start at night leaving you with nothing but the clothes you have on, getting a hold of anyone will be some kind of problem until morning. So you will need to have some extra cash or other cards in this bag that you had packed.

If you don't have any of these things and you were to lose everything in this fire and it's at night, you might not be able to pay for what you and your children need to get by the night. You might be hard up to be able to find anyone that can stand up for your credit if you don't have some information as to who you are.
