Home Birth And Safe Birth: Women Prefer

By:

There is practically no shortage of evidence which can support the fact that homebirth is wholly safe. As a matter of fact,
safe birth at home is indeed possible and is pretty much satisfying as well as empowering for the women and their families. Unfortunately, this was ignored however things have changed for the better and the concept of home birth has nowadays gained adequate importance with the growing rate of families deciding to have safe births at home. Truly, with such an increase in the various areas of natural health, safe birth at home has now become one of the most preferred, viable and sought after choice for the modern mothers.

Now the most important question - whats the safety of home birth compared to hospital birth? A group of researcher from the University of Copenhagen has researched on this topic and has opined - a well conceived and thoroughly planned home birth which is being backed up by the professional midwifery support is totally safe. Moreover, there is hardly any difference in the survival rates between the babies born at home and those born in the hospital. These days more and more women prefer to give birth at home. It is not possible to answer it in one simple line because reasons are many. However women say that they experience less pain while giving birth at home. It is well understood that sensations of pain in labor are typically regulated by hormones released. During labour, oxytocin the hormone responsible for contractions works in harmony with endorphins, which is the bodys own pain relieving hormone. While giving birth at home the body of the expectant mom releases these hormones as per her needs hence she copes well with the sensations of labor.

According to the expectant moms, they experience Lower Levels of Intervention at home and this is typically because in the hospital setting women produces the hormone adrenaline in response to subconscious or conscious fear and this inhibits releasing of the hormone oxytocin, which in turn slows down the labor. Instead of suggesting that the woman should talk about her fears, the hospital turns to drugs to "speed up" the labor. This drug not only causes distress in the baby but also leads to a "cascade of intervention" which in turn results in an instrumental delivery or a cesarean.

The bottom line is , giving birth is quite a natural process and safe birth or home birth further nods to this natural instinct of women.
