France is definately one of the loveliest countries in Europe, beautiful gardens and quiet landscape sprinkled with vineyards and small villages. The beautiful architecture has been a particular attraction from centuries past,and today, France is still one of the most travelled countries in the world.

Looking at the South West it is easy to understand the stories of chivalry and elegant lore. Wines produced in this region, scattered with 18th century buildings, are reputed to be some of the finest in the world, grapes ripened on a land with a great deal to 'tell the world'. Whilst holidaying in France it is easy to imagine the influence of the Vikings ships, the Romans occupation and the British castles throughout the time, as the French kept dear to their hearts their way of life, creating a people and a country who loved their culture. The famous Notre Dame Cathedrale in Paris was constructed during the 12th century and through the turmoil of change, the Louvre was first used as a fortress. These 18th century buildings often receive many visitors, and display the transformation in French culture over the centuries. Regardless of who was in power the French remained uniquely proud of their country drawing the world to their energy century after century, and still, to this day.

The city of Bordeaux is most beautiful with both vineyards and historical value. The Cathedrale St. Andre is located in Bordeaux, this historical cathedral has a wall built in 1096. There are other historical churches located close by. The Quartier Saint Eloi entertains the Great Bell of the City. There are quaint places to stay, and travel is convenient. Another site of outstanding beauty in Bordeaux is Pont de Pierre, a lovely bridge that was commissioned by Napoleon. Visiting some of the country's museums are absolutely marvellous, and Mont St Michel, is truly beautiful.

Hotels and cafes are in abundance and will easily take care of the need for a delicious snack and a comfortable hotel in the French tradition. France is recognized around the world for her cuisine, the city of Bordeaux will not disappoint, an active nightlife and artistic events keep the city alert. Driving to this city of France is a pleasure and flying is not seriously expensive. Trains are exceptionally convenient in France and a great way to get to anywhere you wish quickly and efficiently. The trip to Bordeaux is about three hours and leave on a schedule of every two hours from Paris.

No trip can be taken to France without giving special attention to the cuisine. France has such a variety of cheeses, breads and pastries of many different flavours. The food menus are like, fine works of art done by the finest artist in the world, except that they are edible. Whilst in Bordeaux participation in a wine and cheese tasting is a must. Visiting some of the area's wonderful castles and some of the finest vineyards in the vicinity. The hotel concierge can be hrlpful to find local tours or go online. The whole experience of visiting France can be very pleasurable. Revel in the late spring before the temperature is too hot or in October when things start to cool, tourists will lessen and visiting sites at your own pace, will give you the time to reflect on the sheer beauty of this wonderful country and enjoy the many pleasures that France has to offer.
