Holiday In Barcelona: Far From A Boring City

By:

On HOLIDAY IN BARCELONA it is impossible to get bored. There are so many monuments, plazas, buildings, attractions, bars and shows plus more things to do and see. There is so much that you might not know where to start. Barcelona is an immensely rich cultural city and if you like the architecture and art, you will have a wonderful time walking along the streets of the Gothic centre and visit the many museums and beautiful buildings throughout the city.

Theatres, cinemas and concert halls are also part of the culture of Barcelona; so are the beaches and, of course, its parks and green spaces, all providing for a huge range of leisure activities. Barcelona is a friendly place for children and there are many things for children to enjoy. First, there is the Zoo Parc de la Ciutadella and the largest aquarium in Europe. Another great place for children is the Poble Espanyol de Montjuic; combining a visit there with a trip on the Montjuic cable car that rises from the Barceloneta beach. You can enjoy a spectacular view of Barcelona and the port on the cable car "shuttle Aeri" or take the tram "Funicular del Tibidabo" which climbs through the mountains and the Tibidabo amusement park.

Tapas, the appetizers you get served with a drink, are particularly good at Barceloneta; this was originally a fishing village and there are still many places where you can get fresh seafood tapas at a great value. In addition, we recommend a walk in the street markets of La Boqueria and Mercat de San Antoni, both offering plenty of fresh produce. If you want to relax on the beach, head to the town of Barceloneta beach and enjoy a drink in a bar on the beach. However, if you want to spend a full day at the beach, you are best to take the train from one of the main railway stations of Catalunya or Sans, and after 20 minutes you can enjoy quieter beaches along the Costa Brava.

During the celebrations of the patron saint of Merce in September, the streets are filled with outdoor scenes of concerts and to perform all kinds of events. Some of the most recommendable are located in the Moll de la Fuste, La Rambla del Raval and the Plaza de Catalunya celebrating with street festivals, music, stalls and fireworks.

HOLIDAY IN BARCELONA where everything is just a few steps away, in a warmer climate all year round and with cultural and recreational opportunities for all.
