Its the perfect location for any HOLIDAY HOMES SPAIN but where to go? From the beautiful Balearic Islands to the coastline of the Costas, the mountain peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the peak of Mount Teide, the greener pastures of the Basque country to the desert bowls in Andalucia? With cities like Madrid, Barcelona, and Seville all offering something unique from the others, Spain has so many exceptional destinations offering so much more than the average holiday. It makes for a perfect holiday home when renting a villa from an owner directly with all the freedom of your very own villa.
What is an ideal holiday? For some its clambering over dusty trails whether on foot or horseback, back to old roots visiting whitewashed pueblos lost in the mountains. For others its diving into crystal clear water and enjoying the sites of marine life that normally seen through a glass at the local sea life centre. So many love to see old buildings, learning a little about history, albeit a history from another country; search deep enough behind the rock walls and there are plenty connecting the English, German and French to Spanish. Others come for just the golden sun tan and the night life, usually an escape for the young partying in places like Barcelona or Ibiza where making a noise and raucous behaviour and often seen and read about in the national papers running amok.
It is necessary to research especially if its the first time in Spain. It is a mistake if looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday down on the beach and the first choice out of the hat turns out to be Benidorm or Ibiza. Both places are noted for their night life and big shows. Although there are plenty of places to go that will be quiet and relaxing, just a little harder to find. It would be even worse to choose a trekking holiday and wind up in Madrid. Not difficult to imagine a family group traipsing through the city centre with maps, guide books and compasses at the ready wearing hiking boots and water bottles hanging on hips. But its just as bad as the group going in the opposite direction dragging their golf clubs. Thinking of other things one could do, a tourist searching out flamenco dancing will surely find something in Andalucia as flamenco traditionally started in there. Tapas is from Valencia although it can be found all the way down the coast, in fact all over Spain, but if it is the authenticity searched for then Valencia is also the paella heartland.
What about the holiday times? A perfect holiday would be enormously improved if it coincided with a festival or not; while some love the dancing, singing and late night markets, others are still looking for the quiet moments and head to bed early. Its just a suggestion but while researching check out to see when the fiestas are. Every town has one at least and it is not at the same time as the village down the road. Other things that many people tend to forget is how far away is this rented accommodation? Is there a bus stop nearby, where is the local supermarket, does somebody speak English or is a crash course in Spanish needed? Bear in mind to research for where you want your
HOLIDAY HOMES SPAIN to be.
