History Of Coffee Making Machine

By:

Many years ago somewhere in the beginning of the twentieth century machines were used to make coffee as opposed to manual methods, by means of using pressure on the coffee beans and missing with milk and foam. The steam was applied to the beans in a pressurized way and a strong brew was prepared. This was only possible due to machines with specialized fittings.

The machine first used was patented by Luigi Bezarra in 1901 in Italy and it was later taken over by Desiderio Pavoni who spread the design and the concept throughout the world. This was the beginning of coffee made for commercial purposes. A lot of advertising went towards making the product very attractive and thus more saleable. It started spreading all over Europe and then it first made its appearance in the US in the year 1927 at the Caf Reggio. This institution still has the machine present for viewing purpose though it is not being used.

But in the early stages the coffee did not have as much social standing because it was mostly drunk by the Italian immigrants who were associated with the poorer localities of the US and therefore it had a low reputation. The flavor in the early days was not too good either as steam was used on the coffee bean and not water. The piston pump which used water was able to produce a better taste and the foam we see today, and this was introduced only in 1938.

Starbucks organization should be given the credit for bringing the present status to this coffee as it indulged in plenty of advertising which got it world wide publicity and got hold of the major competitors in the field. The production of Latte is a landmark as it gave a good prestige to it. Nowadays, many companies have produced machines for making this kind of coffee at home with remarkable effect.

What began as an alternative to slow coffee being prepared manually and served in hotels and cafes has turned into a much-in-demand drink which is now associated with commercial centers and a ritual which has aesthetic appeal almost similar to the Japanese tea ceremonial process. Nowadays there are many brands manufacturing this coffee namely Mr. Coffee introduced by Jarden Corporation and also the Krups machine and the Saeco which is a brand acquired by Gaggia.
