Hip And Popular Beach Clothing: Recession Collection Review

Hip And Popular Beach Clothing: Recession Collection Review

By:

The Recession Collection,a hip firm owned by Billabong, is a casual, sporty, surfer type clothing label, designed with flexible, breathable fabrics. Based in Costa Mesa, California, the company was founded by PM Tenore. It has since been purchased by an Australian company. The hip clothing label is associated with the artistic and the laid back crowd. The origin of Billabong owned clothing has its beginnings in American work clothes. However, style and fashion have been incorporated into the clothing line to meet everyday situations for both men and women, especially in nature.

The collection consists of a subculture type feel. Their clothing line includes hoodies, cotton t-shirts, jeans and pullovers made from natural materials such as cotton, wools and silk blends. Loved by surfers everywhere, this California casual clothing is for those who work with nature, not against it. The clothing is closely associated with the skateboard and surfer culture and it sponsors skateboarding and surfing teams.

Some may wonder about the secret to Recession Collection success. It may be the way they have managed to integrate a community style sentiment into the way they promote and sell their clothing. For instance, the Billabong owned company has an Artist Network Program that was founded to promote known and moderately known artists. Thus they encourage and recognize the very types of people that they want to buy their clothes. Ideally, it is hoped that a mix of fashion, music, art and contemporary way of life is the type of existence to be lived by those who buy the clothing.

The hip clothing company also sponsors a number of contemporary art galleries such as the New Image Art Gallery in Los Angeles and the Luggage Store Gallery in San Francisco. It also focuses on the street graffiti subculture with its line appealing to its members.

Prices are quite reasonable for the quality, and many rush to the Recession collection warehouse sales or buy pieces at many such fine retailers like Nordstrom or Bloomingdales. Many will swear that RVCA t-shirts are all the rage. The 100% cotton is soft next to the skin, flexible and fits without clinging. A basic t-shirt in their collection will cost about $22.00. A pair of skinny jeans sells for about $75.00.

The lines accessories chiefly consist of flip-flops and very basic bags in black such as messenger bags, duffel bags and canvas bags with a price range from $20.00 to $70.00. It's definitely a company geared towards the young crowd. Ages 16-35 seems to be their target. But for those above that age, don't give up hope. Even they can very well find some skateboarding and surfing clothes to purchase.
