Himesh Reshammiya - Bollywood Actor Cum Music Director

Himesh Reshammiya is a Bollywood actor, music director, composer and singer. He is also a television serial producer He is the son of veteran Gujarati music director Vipin Reshammiya. Himesh Reshammiya was born on May 16 1969 to Vipin Reshammiya and Madhoo Reshammiya in Bhavnagar.

He studied at the Hill Grange School in Peddar Road. At the age of sixteen, he produced television serials for the TV channel Zee TV. These included serials such as ANDAZ and AMAR PREM. His production house also aired few television soaps on Doordarshan Ahmedabad. Later he went on to music direction.

Himesh Reshammiya started his acting career in the year 2007 with the film AAP KAA SURROOR: THE MOVIE- THE REAL STORY (2007). He played the role of Himesh Reshammiya (HR), an Indian rock star. He starred along with Hansika Motwani, Mallika Sherawat, Raj Babbar and Shravan. Prashant Chadha directed this film.

Himesh himself produced the film. It was a huge success. It had 95% opening on the first day of the release. The movie was a hit but critics gave it negative reviews. Himesh composed the music for this film.

He also sang all the songs of this film along with Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Asha Bhosle. Himesh Reshammiya is giving music in the year 2011 for films such as ISHQ UNPLUGGED (2011) and A NEW LOVE IISSHSTORY (2011).

Himesh Reshammiya has given the background music for the film KURUKSHETRA (2000). Himesh Reshammiya has given his voice to many actors for songs in movies. He first began singing professionally for the film, AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE: LOVE TAKES OVER (2005).

This was followed by many more movies. In the year 2006, Himesh sang for films such as TOM, DICK AND HARRY (2006), AKSAR (2006), BANARAS (2006), HUMKO DEEWANA KAR GAYE (2006), 36 CHINA TOWN (2006), PHIR HERA PHERI (2006), CHUP CHUP KE: LOVE MEETS CONFUSION MEETS LOVE (2006), AHISTA AHISTA (2006), AAP KI KHATIR (2006), DIL DIYA HAI (2006) and ROCKY (2006).

In the year 2007, Himesh sang for films such as NAMASTEY LONDON (2007), SHAKALAKA BOOM BOOM (2007), GOOD BOY. BAD BOY (2007), APNE (2007), AAP KA SURROOR: THE MOVIE- THE REAL STORY (2007) and DARLING (2007).

In the year 2008, Himesh sang for only one film, which was KARZZZZ (2008). In the year 2010, Himesh sang for films such as MILENGE MILENGE (2010) and an upcoming film ISHQ UNPLUGGED (2010).

Himesh Reshammiya will be doing an international album AT DA EDGE in the year 2011.this music album will also include famous singer Shakira. This album has fifteen songs composed, written and sung by Himesh itself. It is directed by Roman White and is produced by Vivek Singhania.

Himesh Reshammiya won the Filmfare Award for Best Playback Singer for AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE: LOVE TAKES OVER (2005) in the year 2006. Himesh has been nominated at the Filmfare for Best Music Director for HUMRAAZ (2002) in the year 2003 and for TERE NAAM (2003) in the year 2004.

Himesh has been nominated at the Filmfare for Best Music for AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE (2005) in the year 2006 and for AKSAR (2006) in the year 2007. Himesh has also been nominated at the Filmfare for Best Playback Singer for AKSAR (2006) in the year 2007.

Himesh Reshammiya married Komal at the age of twenty-one. They have a son named Swayam who was born in the year 1996. His family, which includes his parents, his wife and his son, avoid media attention.
