High Blood Pressure, The Silent Danger

By:

High blood pressure sneaks up on people, it usually has no indications until it triggers something severe like heart attack or stroke.

Some people do of course suffer symptoms that might give them an indication that they have a blood pressure problem. Given that high blood pressure naturally means that the pressure of blood being pumped around the body is too high, there are some circumstances that might suggest a high blood pressure problem.

If you have everyday unexplained nose bleeds, this could mean that you have high blood pressure as weaker veins in your nose rupture without reason Likewise if you have dizzy spells or unexplained headache you might have high blood pressure; blurred vision and nausia are other possible symptoms.

For many people however, high blood pressure has no indications whatsoever. And even in a situation where someone is suffering a symptom that could suggest a blood pressure issue, these indications will often be so mild that it is all too easy to take for granted that there is nothing seriously wrong.

Similarly, it is unlikely that you would automatically assume that something like nausea or a headache is a symptom of high blood pressure. As a result, it is far more likely that you would pop an aspirin when confronted by a condition of this nature rather than going to your doctor for a blood pressure check.

Hence you have the motive why your doctor will check your blood pressure every time you visit. It has little to do with why you came but rather you have given them with occasion to make the check and they will jump on it.

It will become even more likely that your doctor will test you every time you visit as you get older because it is a fact that high blood pressure is a problem that increases as you get older.

But of course, the greatest problem with high blood pressure is that many of the people who have the problem do zero about countering it simply because they are not aware that there is anything wrong. Because they don't know they have the issue they fail to get medical care until there is some major damage like a stroke or heart attack and by then it is often too late.
