What is the Most Important Herpes Indication

There are varying strains of the herpes virus family and they all cause some type of eruption or herpes outbreak of sores or lesions.

The herpes family is domineered by two herpes family strains in the main. First is the HSV 1 strain that affects the mouth both inside and out.

Spreading Genital Herpes

The second strain of herpes is herpes simplex 2. This strain affects the parts of the body that are below the waist. This strain is typically spread through sexual contact and involves eruptions on the genitalia or the surrounding pubic area. Below we will more specifically get into the types of blisters caused by this virus as well as the location of these sores.

The gentlest member of the herpes family is HSV -1. Although it is a milder virus, the cold sores it is responsible for are highly contagious. There is no cure for HSV 1. Although this herpes is predominantly found around the mouth in the form of cold sores, it often causes herpes on the genitals.

This is known as oral herpes. These lesions erupt when the immune system is weakened or stressed. Thus the term fever blisters, or cold sores, refer to these lesions occurring around the time a cold appears.

Herpes simplex 2 is the most commonly talked about form of herpes. This strain is passed through sexual activity. The lesions that occur from this strain are similar to cold sores; The herpes virus that causes genital herpes is the virus that raises most concern. HSV 2 causes lesions and blisters on the genitals and surrounding pubic areas including the buttocks and the anus.

Genital herpes (the blisters) in males will breakthrough on the penis shaft, the anus, the buttocks and even on the inner thighs and lower back. Woman will see the sores appearing over the whole of the pubic area, including the anus and buttocks. Sometimes the eruption is that mild that a torch or flashlight is used during the examination.

So what does genital herpes look like? Sometimes herpes simply appears as reddening of the affected area. It is popssible that you could also feel feverish and possibly have some flu like aches and pains. A discharge from the penis or vagina also often occurs.

It is common for the first herpes outbreaks to be far more acute and they often are preceded by feelings of fever and glands that are swollen. Succeeding outbreaks are normally never as harsh as that first outbreak and can occur 6 to 8 times a year, depending on your health. Extreme stress levels will almost always trigger an outbreak as will a lweakened immune system. Depression can extend the length of your herpes outbreaks.
