Herb For Hot Flashesdamiana May Help

About 10 years ago I learned how I could use an herb for hot flashes. I can remember when I began to experience hot flashes. There were times when, while doing my daily activities, working at my desk or completing my daily chorus, I would suddenly experience a feeling of intense heat along with sweating as well as heart palpitations. The sensations would typically last for two to thirty minutes for each occurrence. Oftentimes the sensation of heat would begin in my face and course throughout my body.

The hot flash event would repeat a few times each week or sometimes constantly throughout the day. They were always unpredictable. A sense of lethargy would accompany the hot flash sensation. After experiencing embarrassment, frustration, irritability and sometimes even depression I decided to visit my local health food store. I wanted to talk with a nutritionist about my symptoms. After providing the nutritionist with the symptoms I described above, she informed me that I was experiencing menopause.

The nutritionist suggested I try Damiana an herb for hot flashes. Prior to the suggestion, I had never heard of the herb. I tried it immediately and the rest is history.I began to take Damiana daily. Both my hot flashes and lethargy symptoms were diminished significantly. So for years now I take Damiana as a part of my daily herbal supplement because it has improved my stamina considerably. In addition, it relieves any menopausal symptoms I may have, i.e., hot flashes, migraine headache, bloated sensation and lethargy.

There are two types of herbs for menopause relief. They are phytoestrogenic and non-estrogenic. A phytoestrogenic herb contains components of estrogenic which is produced by plants. The estrogens from these herbs treat the hormonal imbalance by initiating the plant-based estrogens into the body.

Non-estrogenic herbs are plants that do not have estrogen properties. As a result of menopause, the estrogen produced by the ovaries is reduced significantly. Non-estrogenic herbs for menopause do not contain estrogen or hormones but stimulate hormonal production within the body.

After doing additional research I discovered that Damiana is used as an herbal medicine to treat a wide variety of conditions. The herb has been associated with helping with low estrogen, hot flashes, impotency, infertility, menopause and PMS (pre-menstrual tension). Damiana can be taken as an extract, capsule form or crushed dry leaves.

Prior to consuming any herb for hot flashes, I suggest you do your research and check with a progressive and knowledgeable health practitioner.
