Do you run a pay per click campaign in Google, Yahoo or Bing? Are your having trouble getting new customers from your current budget? Think your spending to much for the return you are getting?
If yes, the below help and advise may help you increase the performance of your campaign.

You may be getting lots of wasted clicks within your pay per click campaign by having keywords that are to generic or that could mean other things which means you are being broad matched to keywords for different term, example if you have the word shower, you may also come up for shower curtains or shower caps but you actual just sell showers.

There are lots of different types of optimisation techniques and keyword selection within your pay per click campaign to make sure that you only feature for keywords of the products or services that you provide and not those that you don't, as for each click you get that isn't relevant you are wasting your budget which could be spent on a keywords that could provide you with a customer/enquiry or phone call.

If you click on keywords within your campaign and then click on Search Terms and see all, this will give you exactly what people are typing into the search engines to get your advert, and if the keywords are not relevant you can add these as negatives.

Do you have negative keywords in your pay per click campaign, do you understand the difference between broad, phrase and exact keywords?

The broad match modifier is a new AdWords/Pay Per Click targeting feature that lets you create keywords which have a better reach than phrase match keywords but also gives you more control than broad match.

To implement broad match modifier, put a plus symbol (+) directly in front of one or more words in your keywords that are already broad match keyword. Each word preceded by a + has to appear in your potential customer's search exactly or as a close variant.

At present if you are using broad match you will be matched to lots of different words that aren't even relevant to you but with broad match modifier you will be closely matched to your words.

By just making sure some of the above are in place within your campaign you could really see a difference in your business marketing and sales.
