One unusual and unique creation is the checkerboard design in their neighbor's garage door, which was the result of the wife's former profession of a commercial artist. The eight inch light and dark brown squares were created by her and gave the garage door a redefining touch. The size of the garage has been covered up by the distinct design which serves its purpose well as the garage which was meant to be as a one car garage functions as a two car one.

Her neighbors commented on the distinct decor, reveals the wife and said that they would ask where she got the idea, and how long it took her to do it. One of the neighbors chose a design with flowers because they thought that was different. According to the wife's information her neighbor, who is painting contractor desires to paint his garage door four times a year corresponding with the change in seasons.

Usually, people choose doors and their designs keeping in mind what is the most suitable choice depending on the color scheme of their houses. There are others too who don't care about the color as long as they like the design. People, who have older homes, tend to go for simple designs, though the price and design are almost the same. Homes that have different designs too are not keen on flashy designs.
