One morning I woke up, took one look at myself in the mirror and almost screamed out "help, I want to lose weight". That was one year ago and now, when I look in the mirror, I smile at myself and say to, "you're beautiful", every single morning. So how did that happen? How much time did it take?

Strategy One: Stay Away from Carbs

When I say carbs I don't mean the good carbs which come from fruit, I'm talking about the useless carbs which contribute nothing to your diet but calories, such as refined flour, sugar etc. If you have an impossible craving for them, then you can allow yourself a small helping of these foods, within an hour and a half of an intense resistance training workout.

Strategy Two: Meal Adjustments

If you are saying to yourself every day, help, I want to lose weight, you've got to want it pretty badly right? Well, in that case, it shouldn't be a problem for you to tweak your meals a bit. Have your pick from these basic foods I'm listing here.

Proteins- egg whites, pork, organic beef (grass fed only), chicken thighs or breasts.

Legumes pinto or black beans and legumes.

Vegetables- leafy vegetables like asparagus or spinach, peas and mixed vegetables (no potatoes don' count!).

Have about five meals a day, it works!

Strategy three: Drinks

It's no good saying "I need help, I want to lose weight" if you aren't careful about what you drink. Avoid alcohol at all costs; it is like drinking oil, seriously! Also, avoid milk based drinks, soft drinks and fruit drinks which are sweetened with sugar. You can allow yourself a glass of red wine a day, the resveratrol in it works wonders!

Strategy Four: Take a day off!

This has got to be the easiest thing to do! If you are saying to yourself "help, I want to lose weight", you're probably imagining yourself toiling away throughout, without any reward, you couldn't be more wrong! Have a cheat day and treat yourself to all the goodies you love!
