Hella Inc, the North American aftermarket subsidiary of automotive lighting and electronics supplier Hella, has released its new Hella Power Beam 3000 LED work lamp. This lamp is powerful and efficient, consuming substantially less electricity than standard halogen work lamps. The Hella LED lamp provides an output of 3,000 lumens and requires only 43 watts of power.

The lamp uses 16 long-lasting LEDs to create a white light closest to daylight and more efficient than Xenon-based lamps. It is available in both close and long-range illumination models. Hella also incorporates its Free-Form reflector technology, which is designed to deliver more light output and provide a more precise beam placement than conventional lamps. Due to its low power consumption, the Hella Power Beam 3000 has a lifespan of more than 60,000 hours and will last more than 350 times longer than a traditional halogen lamp.

The Power Beam 3000 uses a specially developed integrated thermal sensor to protect against overheating and also has built-in overvoltage and reverse polarity protection. It is also resistant to mechanical action by nylon dispersion lenses. The housing is made of die-cast aluminum for light weight and good heat dissipation and is mounted with a stainless steel bracket. Built-in shielding also helps protect against interference with other nearby electronic devices. The lamp is completely sealed, and no service is required.

This lamp has a multi-volt operating range from 9 to 33 volts. The lamp housing is sealed to IP6K7 and IP6K9K for harsh conditions.

Ohio-based obstruction light manufacturer Hughey & Phillips (H&P) has a new LED obstruction light for longer-lasting, more efficient fixtures, specifically in the renewable energy industry. H&P says their Horizon low-intensity products offer a solution for FAA L-810 steady burning lights and can be powered using a solar array for renewable energy applications.

The Horizon L-810 is a steady burn obstacle light available in single and double configurations that operate at a range of 95 to 277 Vac or 9 to 48 Vdc. The configurations are available as new fixtures and replacement light modules for existing incandescent obstruction lights.

The light also features a life 15 times longer than traditional incandescent designs and uses approximately 96% less power than standard incandescent lamps. Weather-resistant assembly and housing and a self-contained wiring compartment protect the lamp from damage due to extreme environments.

Horizon outshines and outlasts predecessor incandescent fixtures by significant margins, making them a perfect low-intensity solution for a new generation of obstruction lighting, said Richard Finkbine, executive vice president of Hughey & Phillips.
