Raising kids and being a parent is sometimes a tough and stressful job but it is a very important job. When a child becomes part of your life they will notice every little thing you do and say and most likely imitate your every move. For this reason it is very important that you protect what they see and hear and encourage good behavior by your own actions and the way you handle real life situations. Children are more aware of what is going on around them that we can ever realize.

Teaching healthy habits are a great way to start a child out in life that will stay with them the rest of their live. Children respond to the behavior they are around and usually imitate that behavior; good or bad. For these reasons raising, healthy children should begin before they are born, by taking care of yourself. It is not very effective to smoke or drink and then try to keep your children from the same behavior; and this is just a couple of examples. There are several other examples that is a key indicator that being a parent is a really big deal from the start of a new life.

By setting your standards to a high level will help teach your children the healthiest habits from the start and these good habits can add years to their life, making them healthy and happy. To start with make sure that you practice good eating habits and get into a daily exercise routine and you can never start too soon and should never be stopped or slack off. The first few months in a child's life is a very important time because regardless of how preoccupied they might seem to be with boring things, they are in reality listening and watching everything you do.

Children for the most part learn to become adults by mimicking their parents and they learn habits and behaviors really quickly; good or bad. Failing to realize the importance of the influence your choices will have on a child and can lead to a lifetime of bad or good behavior. Abused or neglected children and situations can have a devastating effect on the child and will form many of the behaviors and attitudes toward life in general and this all usually happens in the first initial years of the child's life.

Healthy habits begin very early on so if you want your child to have the best possible life be sure to look in the mirror and decide if the behaviors you are role modeling are those that you want your children to emulate. You may just find that revamping your own life gives them a better shot at a good life.
