Hawaii Vacation: Considerations To Plan A Great Trip!

Planning a Hawaii vacation can be quite involved- there are so many unique features on each of the islands and so little time to visit them. Hawaii contains huge waterfalls, majestic mountains, and wildlife, plants and flowers you can find nowhere else. Whatever your plans for a vacation, Hawaii has something for you, and it will take some thought for you to decide on what you want out of your vacation.

Staying at a resort is one of the more popular options. Many resorts offer packages which include your hotel stay, meals, drinks, and activities. Certain resorts also have amenities such as a kids club for children, a salon and spa, shopping on site, and provide Hawaii tours. Ask your friends for resort recommendations, or check with a travel agent for suggestions. Many resorts have great sales and promotions, too.

Make sure you travel to other islands while you're there. Kauai is particularly popular as a vacation spot. Arranging a vacation package to Kauai could be an amazing trip! Maui is the second-largest Hawaiian island, and another popular destination. If you're a history buff, Oahu, the location of Pearl Harbor, is a great choice. If you prefer geology, you'll want to see Mauna Kea, an active volcano on the Big Island.

Another popular island to visit is Maui. Rent a time-share or privately owned condo for your Maui vacation. This will afford you more privacy as you'll essentially be living in someone's own home. The accommodations are often larger and less like a hotel. Unlike a resort, activities and meals are not available on site. You'll probably have to cook for yourself or eat at local restaurants. Often times, people will choose this type of accommodation for large events like family reunions or for longer stays.

Another option to consider is taking a Hawaii cruise. Why stay in a hotel when you can be on the ocean itself? A cruise in Hawaii gives you the opportunity to see many of the islands, and to travel to a wide variety of ports. Stay on board the cruise ship for fine dining and several activities, or travel onto the land itself for biking, hiking, and authentic island cuisine. Several cruise trips are oriented around the family with activities geared for children. Others are romance-based for loving couples.
