Having Faith In Your Faith

By:

I remember reading a poem called The lamb by a noted Romantic poet William Blake. This poem is a part of his famous literary output called Songs of Innocence and experience. Written in a child-like rhyme and lucidity this poem establishes Jesus Christ as a shepherd, a lamb and a god thus painting the Christ in a threefold image residing at the helm of purity and innocence. At that time it was difficult for me to visualize Christ as a shepherd because for me he is at the centre of universe- omnipresent, omniscience and all empowering force. Thinking him as a coy, meek shepherd boy was a hard task for me during those years.

The revelation that the human relationship has been established through this comparison took me by surprise. I neither repent nor regret. In fact am joyous to see the other side of the mirror for someone has correctly said that the mirror has two faces. Such is the charisma and enigma of Jesus. Its been more than twelve thousand years of his sad demise but Jesus has created and shaped the Christian faith as it stands today.

Christian community believes that he will come back again or the Second Coming as Bible names it to destroy the enemies of God and establish peace among men. He is the messiah, son of god and son of man. This humble background of being Son of Man actually separates him as the most fascinating divine power and no wonder that the Christian community is the biggest one in the world. The Christian community believes in Christ and his teachings even if there have been sub-divisions of schools like Catholic, Protestants, Anglicans, Evangelism who vary but in few traits. The basic primary tenets of Christianity are observed by all Christians alike across the globe.

The Christian faith is very strong and I have always found Christian men and women good and god- fearing. For them life is best when served to Jesus and walked on the discourse that he professed. Life is of little value if not devoted to this messiah. It is not that everyone has to chant what the Christ has asked but it is all about implementing his sayings and sermons in the daily life. On one hand Christianity encourages visiting Church while on the other it also expects from its followers to spread the message of love, fraternity, peace and harmony among all denizens in the world. That is what Jesus wanted. Human beings have their share of flaws and sins but they have to rise from these trivialities and work together for the betterment of their lives.
