Have You Arrived With Your Midlife Fat? Fight Your Midlife Fat

By:

None of us see it coming. It just slowly grows as we are busy with all the activities and responsibilities that build up as we grow up. Before you know it, the pants that you have been wearing for the last several years start to get tight. Then you are out buying a larger size a month later. Then the muffin top starts to creep over the top of those new pants that you just bought. And right before your eyes the scale starts to read 10lbs more, then 15lbs more, then 25lbs. Before you know it the Midlife Fat has caught up with you.

So first you are thinking how could this have happened to me? Blame it on the hormones, it works for everything else, but that is not the only cause. The cause of gaining this weight as you reach your midlife years can be anything from making poor dieting choices, maybe over eating due to a reduction in meals, not exercising like you used to from a lack of free time, and dont forget stress. All or some of these have put on that fat that we are all seeing grow right under our faces.

So how can you make sure that this doesnt happen to you? Pay attention to the 3ms mind, muscle and your mouth.

First your mind, your mind is the initial key to making any type of life decision, but be careful your mind can play mean tricks on you and convince of many things that can be bad. You get stressed and short on time because of life and your mind will convince you to make several unhealthy dietary decisions and skipping an exercising routine today, maybe tomorrow too

You must keep your muscles active. You must look for exercises that first you will actually do, maybe not love to do but at least like to do enough to actually do them. Also when picking out exercises make sure that they can be easily incorporated into your day dont join that gym if it is going to take you across town during rush hour, because then your mind will start kicking in after a few weeks saying that you dont have the time today to do it, then tomorrow I think that you get the idea. It can be as simply as a jog around your neighborhood, taking a couple round on the stairs of your 5 story building at the end of the day, and other simple but good exercises.

And dont forget what you put in your mouth. Look at your nutrition quality, quantity, and frequency. Select whole and unprocessed foods which are where you will get the quality of foods that your body needs and will also help keep that weight off. Portion size will also get you when you are not looking, especially if you are eating out. Each meal needs to be not much larger than a coffee cup saucer. Yes that is right, we have all gotten into our minds to fill those larger dinner plates there the mind is playing tricks on us again. With a sensible portion size, you can increase on the frequency to 4 to 5 quick and small meals a day. You dont need to get stuck into the tradition that has been put in our minds (again the mind) of 3 meals a day.

If you have already hit reached your Midlife Fat, it is not too late. All of the things above can also help you in reducing the weight that you have already put on, but you may have to be a little more aggressive with the frequency of exercising and really keep a close reign on your dietary decision dont let your mind convince into the same decisions that have gotten you to where you are today.

Whether you have already reached your midlife fat or can see it coming around the corning, it is never too late or too early to get on the Road to Weight Loss!
