Have Fun At The Beach In Port Dickson

If you are a Malaysian, you would most probably know where Port Dickson is located. But, if you are not, you might wonder where this town or even Malaysia is.

Malaysia has a number of beaches that are popular tourist haunts due to their clear blue waters and sandy white beaches. Among them, Port Dickson or PD for short stands out a famous beach resort for both locals and tourists alike. Since this town is situated around eighty kilometers away from the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, many Kuala Lumpur city folk love to spend a fun and relaxing holiday at PD.

One of the most well-known places for its beaches and water sport activities is Port Dickson or PD. It has a string of beaches located along its coastal road. To make things simpler, the PD road is called as first mile, second mile and so forth. So, how do you get to PD?

If you go to any of the Chinese restaurants located along 'Jalan Pantai', you will get a chance to try seafood dishes which are made in Malaysian Chinese style. And some grilled seafood in authentic Malay style. Food such as 'nasi lemak', 'roti canai' and 'teh tarik' are some of the most popular food in Malaysia.

If you prefer fresh seafood, go to any of the Chinese restaurants located along 'Jalan Pantai' for sumptuous seafood dishes. Another good place to taste local food fare at a cheaper price would be the 'Pasar Malam' or 'night market'. The stretch of night market is located at the fourth mile of PD road.

The shops sell many Malaysian handicrafts and souvenirs which are made of traditional items. For a truly Malaysian experience, visit the 'night market' at fourth mile of PD on a Saturday evening. Apart from cheap local food fare, you will have a chance to haggle over some local goodies to take back home.

The Tanjung Tuan Forest Reserve has many birds and two jungle trails which lead to naturally lovely beaches. Overall, Port Dickson is a remarkable place to visit for your holidays. You can relax and unwind, eat exotic dishes and spend quality time with friends or family.
