Has Any Bank Helped You Save Your Home From Foreclosure

By:

Homeowners on the verge of being foreclosed on were holding out hope that their bank or other lending institute would help them to get their outrageous mortgage payments modified after they had received the big bail out from the government during 2009. Well, here is is already into 2010 and homeowners the country over are still struggling to make their payments, most that were facing foreclosure are still facing foreclosure and that is because of the almost 6 million homeowners that were needing home loan modification and salvation from foreclosure, only about 160,000 or so have actually received any kind of help.

This is so wrong there is just no way to justify it. Billions of dollars were shelled out to these banks to save them from the messes that they themselves created and this is how the country is repaid by them. Perhaps the next time they get themselves into trouble they should be left to crash and burn and make way for new banks that might conduct their business a little more wisely. After all, isn't that the real American Way? When someone owns a business and they make stupid mistakes and get in over their head, usually they will go bankrupt and have to close their doors for business? Why were all of these banks treated differently? Some say it was because they were too big and too important to allow them to fail, but has there ever been any business in this country that went belly up that caused the wheels of the future to stop turning?

People are still losing their homes, credit card companies are still charging outrageous interest and late fees and insurance companies are still going up and up on monthly premiums. Did it do the average American any good at all for that huge amount of money to be lent to these giant businesses? It certainly does not look like it from most American's point of view. Perhaps the next time anyone gets bail out money, maybe it should go directly to the little people and they could have saved their own homes from foreclosure instead of buying into the promise that the banks and mortgage companies would help them after they received all of that money.

Hopefully, you are not one of millions on the verge of losing your home, but if you are there might not be that much you can do to save it. You might have to do some desperate things to get up the money you need, but it might not be very likely you will get it from a bank. However, there has been some controversy recently concerning how many endangered homes the banks have actually helped to save, so perhaps the fact that they are beginning to be exposed for the evasive tactics they have been using to avoid helping homeowners could cause them to loosen the money strings a little more. We can only hope that they will develop a conscience and actually use the money they received in the bail out to do what it was intended for.
