RAAF Aircraft Hangar Richmond, NSW

The RAAF Richmond Air Base developed from a former combat centre into a major housing facility for the RAAF fleet of aircraft. One of the many aircraft fleets is the C130 Hercules a tactical and multi-role transport aircraft providing strategic air support to the Australian Defence Force ( ADF ) throughout the world.

Universal Fabric Structures designed, manufactured and installed a very sophisticated Alu-Span TFS hangar, specifically designed to deal with the necessities and growing wishes of the C130 Hercules aircraft fleet.

With a clear span of 48m and a top height of 16m the TFS hangar included a variety of customised accessory options to help the operations crew with their day-to-day servicing and upkeep programs. The project was employed, manufactured and delivered inside eight weeks of order.

Black Hawk Rapid-Span Hangars

The Australian Defence Force ( ADF ) needed a bunch of relocatable hangar solutions to be designed, supplied and installed under strict Defence Force contract standards.

Based at the Holsworthy Barracks NSW, the 9 UFS Rapid-Span hangars provide cover for the ADF fleet of Black Hawk helicopters. Each Rapid-Span was installed within 2-3 days, providing a fast and cheap helicopter hangar solution.

Made in Australia, Rapid-Span hangars are constructed as an arched roof fixed to shipping containers, steel columns, concrete walls or the side wall of existing structures. Standard pre-engineered hangars range all the way from 6 metres to sixteen metres in width.
