One of the most popular head lambs are the halogen head lamps. It gives a tough fight to its competitors because of its long battery life. Basically a halogen lamp has a battery life of 1000 hours. But because of the lower efficiency halogen are not so favorites recently. A halogen light consists of a glass tube inside which has a mixture of argon and nitrogen and a tungsten filament. The glass envelope will be capable of resisting high temperatures. The main problem of using halogen head lamps is that when we use halogen headlamps huge amount of heat will be generated and thereby causing wastage of energy. There is one more problem when we are using a halogen head lamp. It is the way it reacts with various materials. The salt in skin oil can damage the glass bulb and it cannot resist very high temperature inside. Still halogen is one of the favorites of carmakers because it offers some unique advantages. Let us now take a look of these advantages

Halogen head lamps offers a very long batter life compared to others
They are available in different dimensions , so they will be compactable to various designs
They are very efficient
Halogen head lamps offer a high illumination so we will get a better sight by using these

Xenon head lamps
Xenon head lamps are another type of head lights that are used because of their better efficiency. Xenon head lamps consist of xenon gas and this gives a light blue shade as seen by the naked eye.
