When its cold outside and the snow is coming, the only consolation to the miserable weather is the thought that once you get indoors you can cuddle up with your warmest woollies and the heating on full. Well, that is, everyone except for the Dancing on Ice contestants! Making their mark on the ice is one thing, but this year more than ever, Dancing on Ice seems to be a fashion contest too! The glitz and glam match the make-up and of course the hair styles to create one of the most spectacular sights on television. Lets have a look at how the finalists styles have evolved through the years
2009 saw Ray Quinn, Zoe Salmon and Donal Macintyre reach the finals. Ray seemed to be fond of the past with his variation of the curtain hairstyle. Instead of keeping the parting central and the hair framing his face, Ray kept the colour natural with his warm brown locks. Zoe and Donal were also fans of the side parting, however both of them favouring the blonder tones. Zoe was slightly more bleached than Donal, and purposely kept her brown roots on show to add some dimension to her look, while Donal kept it age appropriate with very short, honey blonde hair parted on the side.
2010s winner was the beautiful Hayley. One of the reasons that Hayley was so well-liked was due to her firm focus on her skating, and the fact that she didnt try too hard to distract the audience with such dramatic styles. Hayley was often seen with her jet black hair in a middle parting and sleeked back off of her face so as not to disturb her stupendous skating this was certainly a well-deserving title holder!
2011s final saw Laura, Sam and Chloe. As per 2009, the girls both favoured blonde locks, while Sam kept it dark. Laura was more likely to be seen with her blonde locks loose and no signs of roots, whereas Chloe was equally as stunning with a more honey toned blonde. One of the main differences between the two was Chloes use of
hair extensions - but no one would have known! The two girls were equally as show-stopping and spectacular.
With stars such as Jennifer Ellison, Heidi Range and Chico and others featuring in this years line-up, who knows what styles will be sported, either way, it is definitely an exciting part of the show!
