Hair Care And Trichology

By:

Trichology is the scientific study of scalp and hair. A trichologist is a specialist in scalp and hair disorders. Trichologists attempt to get to the root of the problem by examining the root. Several strands of hair will be pulled from various parts of the scalp for microscopic evaluation. The size, shape and feel of the root reveal much about the health of the scalp and hair.

Hair loss may run in the family. This leads to hair getting thinner or even total baldness. Other factors of losing hair are diseases and medicines. Hair loss can be an unpleasant thing to live with. It can sometimes transform the way a person looks.

Women's hair loss can be caused by hormonal changes. Female Pattern Baldness or Androgenetic Alopecia is a reaction to male hormones in the body which can weaken a woman's hair. Other factors can be stress, poor nutrition, illnesses and reaction to certain medications, childbirth and menopause, frequent coloring, curling, straightening, and many more. Most causes of hair loss, when they are correctly identified, can be treated with good results.
A Trichologist is a hair stylist that is trained to recognize the symptoms and treat problems related to the hair and scalp. These problems include Psoriasis, hair loss, Alopecia, baldness.

Scalp or fungal diseases cant be caught from sleeping with wet scalps. Scalp infections require prior involvement with infected sources such as humans, tainted hair care tools or animals. Scalp fungus (tinea capitis) mainly affects children, whose immune systems make them more susceptible to skin infections.

The key is to be encouraging; as children start to take an interest in their own hair and how they style it, this is the time to encourage them to follow an entire regime of good hair hygiene practices. It is important to show a child (when they are willing), how to properly shampoo and rinse their own hair. You can also teach them about towel blotting, detangling, combing and brushing their hair. Help them build a good hair hygiene schedule so that they learn the importance of keeping their hair clean and neat.

Beautiful Hair is an asset for any woman. Some are gifted with naturally beautiful hair while others have to really work hard on it. But essentially everybody has to work on hair either for improving or for maintaining them. Here are some tips to manage your Crowning Glory.

Hair is more likely to be damaged if it's left too long between washes. Not washing can cause the scalp's natural oil to be blocked, and unable to lubricate the hair shaft. As a result, hair can become dry and brittle. Things that damage hair include bleaching, coloring, styling and brushing when wet.
The only successful treatment for removing split ends is with a scissors. Some hair care products may temporarily merge split ends together, but this only lasts until your next shampoo. Always remember that damaged ends tend to grow slower than healthy, well-maintained, trimmed hair.
