These days this term guitar amplifier is some what confusing to many people. Actually the main cause behind it is that this terminology reflects to different sides i-e the former guitar usually gives the fascinating look to the people who have obsession for music but the later one amplifier plunges them to get confused because its a bit sort of technical term and those who are not updated with the present increasing trend of this high tech world always remains confused. But yes many people do have the idea what it, the better way is to describe what is actuall meaning is.Guitar Amplifier is actually a modern high tech device of the 20th Century which is used for the purpose of amplifying the sound of Electric guitars so have its loud voice through speakers. This device wasnt existed initially but in the lmid of 1930s and 1940s this device was orignated for the craze of Huwaiien music, which extensively employed the amplified lap steel Hawaiian guitar. Tone controls on early guitar amplifiers were very simple and have treble boost in it but the controls, the loudspeakers used and the low power of the amplifiers (typically 15 watts or just before the mid-1950s) showed no good results rather it had poor high treble and bass output. At that time there were many models that consisted of effects such as spring reverb and/or an electronic tremolo unit. In the early 1960s there happened to be a big issue that these guitar amplifiers had distorted outputs which happened to be a big problem for that time. The Kinks guitarist Dave Davies produced early distortion effects by overriding already distorted output of one amplifier into the input of the other.So the creaters then used distortion controls and fuzz boxes to make that better. Guitar amplifiers were at first used with bass guitars and electronic keyboards but there were issues of wide frequency ranges so along with guitar amplifiers, woofers and subwoofers were used. So by this one can have the idea that the guitar amplifiers that we use today have gone through many stages and then we got this modsquad guitar amplifiers.
Types of Guitar Amplifiers:

* "Traditional" guitar amplifiers, with a clean, warm sound, a sharp treble roll-off at 5 kHz or less and bass roll-off at 60100 Hz, and often built-in reverb and tremolo ("vibrato") units.Amplifiers, such as the Fender "Tweed"-style amps, are in use by traditional rock, blues, and country musicians.

* Hard rock-style guitar amplifiers, which often include preamplification controls, tone filters, and distortion effects that provide the amplifier's characteristic tone. Users of these amplifiers use it to add "drive", high intensity, and edge to the guitar sound

* Bass amplifiers, with extended bass response and tone controls optimized for bass guitars (or more rarely, for upright bass). Higher-end bass amplifiers sometimes include compressor or limiter features, which help to keep the amplifier from distorting at high volume levels, and an XLR DI output for patching the bass signal directly into a mixing board.

* Keyboard amplifiers, with very low distortion and extended, flat frequency response in both directions. Keyboard amplifiers often have a simple onboard mixer, so that keyboard player can control the tone and level of several keyboards.
