Bathing your dog is not always an enjoyable experience. But most dog owners would like to make this a pleasant experience for all parties involved, as well as a special time of bonding. There is however a few things you can do to make the bath time experience much more enjoyable and this article will tell you more about this.

To start with, you should ne well prepared when wanting to bath your dog. It is not an option do leave your dog in the bathtub while you have to go and fetch something. You will probably find that the whole floor would be under water. Before starting to bath your dog you should have dog shampoo and conditioner, bath brushes and several towels on hand. All of these items should be easily within your reach. This will prevent you from having to leave your dog alone in the bath, which will give them the chance to make a mess.

Secondly, you should be prepared to get wet and dirty when bathing your dog. Always try to wear old clothing when bathing your dog, and not clothes that you care a lot for. Be prepared for your dog splashing on you as that is what the whole bath time is all about. But no do complain about this, and rather try to have some fun with your dog while at this.

Thirdly, you should get your dog outside as soon as possible after the bath. A good thing to do is to put their collar and leash on when taking them outside after removing them from the bath. Cover your dog with a large towel and lead them to an outside area before they get a chance to shake the towel off.

Everybody is aware of the fact that it is not possible to prevent your dog from that final incident of shaking off the water on their coat. By taking your dog to an outside area speedily after bathing them will help steer clear of any tragedies happening on the inside.

You can however avoid a lot of the above actions by just taking your dog to an outside area, and bathe them there. The advice that has been given previously is especially more suited toward larger dogs that have a lot of hair.

Although all dog breeds are different, there are certain guidelines as described in this article that is applicable to all dogs when bathing them. Stick to this, and the bathing process will be a lot more enjoyable for you and your dog.
