Begin by setting small goals such as lengthening your workout time from 15 minutes to 20 minutes on the first two weeks. You can gradually increase your exercise time from 20 minutes to half an hour on the third and fourth weeks, respectively, until you can finally complete a 50-minute or hour-long workout regimen. Small incremental goals will go a long way towards helping you sustain your regimen.

Another exercise tip to help you establish your workout routine is to ensure that you have the space and time for it. This is easy when you intend to enroll in a local gym. But if you intend to workout on your own, either through the help of an exercise video or by following your own bodyweight program, then make sure that you have a specific area in your home to do it. A spare room in your house that you can convert into a mini-workout area would definitely go a long way towards sustaining your workout routine. If you intend to walk, find a ball field, a local park or a boulevard or beach (if you're lucky to live near one) where you can walk without interruptions or obstacles. Also, it's easier for you to stick with your workout regimen if you set aside a specific time for it-- say every morning or late afternoons.

Finally, you've got to psyche yourself up before you go full-blast into your workout. Buy the necessary apparel for your exercise. If swimming is your chosen regimen, it would be wise to invest in a quality swimsuit. If it's jogging or aerobics, cross-trainers that are cushioned to withstand a lot of impact is necessary. Nothing beats the feeling of knowing that you are dressed for your regimen. It dresses you up for success in your workout, too!

By following these exercise tips, it becomes easier for you to establish a regular workout routine that would benefit your health. Setting goals, a regular workout schedule as well as buying the necessary workout gear will all go a long way in helping you sustain your exercise program.
