Groupflier Announces the Release of its Free Group Text Messaging Service

We are fast becoming a social networking society. With Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and all the various instant messaging services, it makes sense that texting would become more community oriented as well. According to an article posted on PR.com, any community of friends (club, team, class, party, clique, campaign, family) can use a single number for group texting.

We are social texting, said Morris Panner, GroupFlier CEO. Texting is the perfect way to communicate one-to-one But unless everyone is on the same service, communicating as group is difficult. Now, with Groupflier, the solution is at hand. Groupflier plans to have software that can be installed on any Smartphone making it unnecessary for users to maintain a texting plan on their cell phones.

Geo-location integration is the next service to be released. Members of the groups will be able to check in and know where everyone else in the group is located. The service will also enable group conference calling for the group. Imagine what this will mean for businesses such as courier services or delivery services.

Groupflier works with any Smartphone platform. Not only is it compatible with all the different platforms like BlackBerry, Android, iPhone or Nokia, but it is also compatible with any service provider. And best of all, Groupflier is free. No longer is it necessary to have a texting plan on your cell phone.

Groupflier will change the way many groups communicate. The political groups in DC are very interested in Groupflier. This solves a huge problem for campaigns and field operations, said Dick Keil, media strategist with PurpleConsulting and a former White House correspondent who covered the 2004 Presidential campaign. Communication is the life blood of a campaign, everyone is on a different system. You just cant move resources fast enough. With GroupFlier, a campaign can get every volunteer on message just like that. It is a huge competitive advantage.

Does your group need help communicating? Do Groupfliers options appeal to you? Perhaps you have a team that needs group messaging. Sounds like the list can go on and on. It will be interesting to see what other group texting software solutions come up now that one has hit the scene. Im not ready to jump on board with the very first one offered, but I can see the potential. What about you?
