Great New Vampire Novel "queens Destiny"

When a novel is well written, there is unity in all that happens. There is a lush array of minds-eye candydetailed descriptions, color, beauty, and activity. There is well built characterization. And, there is a flow that draws, and keeps, the attention of the reader. The good read will relax you or excite you.

There are many other facets in creating good works. In this vampire novel, the authors, Barb Jones and Jerry Wright, effectively use these techniques, as well as others to accomplish what I see as one of the best vampire novels in modern times. And, I am not the only one who thinks this. I really liked Queen's Destiny, book one of the Blood Prophecy series.

If you like horror, listen to this excerpt: He [Machial] was vaguely aware of the girl beating at his shoulders with her hands and screaming, but the blood called him and her cries were soft compared to the roaring in his head.

That was Machial, a vampire near his 300th birthday. From Europe, he goes to America in search of the Queen. His character will bring you back and forth in time and to and from Europe.

The protagonist of this vampire novel, Amber, is a remarkable character. She is a red-headed genius prodigy who, after graduating with a masters degree in cultural anthropology, becomes a curator of a special collection of Macedonian artifacts for a natural history museum.

At the museum, Amber becomes immediate friends with an employee of the same museum. This girl is no ordinary woman herself. No offense to her, but she is a witch. Really, though, a witch. Or, call her a prodigy. Either term applies because she is a prodigious future-seeing witch. A nice touch on a vampire novel!

The characters interact in realistic relationships with each other. This vampire novel also takes us into the characters heads so we can enjoy experiencing their mental workings.

From the very beginning of this book, the authors were able to keep my attention. They did this with powerful descriptions, good use foreshadowment, and mystery. A Fun vampire novel. A book that will take you to another place.
