No doubt a person can wonder what is really in the food we eat. For numerous years we have been told to eat better and that our diets are really bad. If this is actually true and then it is a wonder of who is to blame.

Several of us who are heavy like to blame culture and claim that we are that way simply by conditioning and by of no error of our own self. We place blame on the fast food industry, the weight loss authorities, heredities, and the customs that they learned in youth. Nonetheless whose fault is heaviness and for what reason it is increasing is the question.

We live and eat in a society that doesn't portion control and is extremely inactive and these two issues together are very likely culprits in the disease called obesity that is gradually affecting more and more American's each and every year. But then one must also wonder how and why it is that so many people in the 60's used to consume a stick of butter at each meal and eat tons of carbs and proteins together in the form of meat and potato meals could be living as long as they are. What is really causing obesity and disease in the United States in the present moment?

It may be the answer is not only in the food that we consume but the content of the food that we are buying. Whenever you read the newspaper most of the time something about weight loss and obesity will be in an article and mostly of the biggest exaggerated expressions is that the obesity problem in America is one that is being shaped by fast food. And unquestionably, we are a culture that is looking for the easier way and instant gratification but oddly many people who are overweight stay at home to prepare and eat their own meals and snacks. Where does the true problem exist?

Awkwardly, it seems that the problem lies in the fact that most of the food we eat are so over treated that the portion sizes are not enough to satisfy someone. Since this is the case most people either end up eating several portions or leave the table starving and this is what makes them to eat again rather rapidly or to have a snack in the near future. Either one it is the foods that we eat including those that we prepare at home that cause us the most problem and this is something significant to acknowledge when you try to lose weight.
