Granular Chlorine: Is It Right For Your Pool?

Sanitizing your pool is very important and should be done to prevent swimmers from contracting illness or infections caused by microorganisms in swimming pool water. Is granular chlorine right for you to use to treat your swimming pool? Well, it is one good option for keeping pool water clean; using the right dosages of granular chlorine will help keep your pool water clean and healthy.

Granular chlorine is safe to use regularly to help keep your pool water clean. In addition to its regular use, it is also used to shock your swimming pool when opening it for the season, if you have cloudy water or after heavy pool use.

Granular chlorine completely dissolves quickly and is residue free. It is easy to use and many types do not require mixing (read labels). It gives the most accurate control for chlorine levels.

Granular chlorine comes in three different types; Di-Chlor, Lithium Hypochlorite and Cal-Hypo. Di-Chlor is a very popular form. The pH level is 7 and it will last longer. Di-Chlor dissolves very quickly in the water.
Cal-Hypo come is larger granules and is less expensive than the other forms. Cal-Hypo does not have a stabilizer in it so it is better to use in indoor spas and pools.

Lithium Hypochlorite has a pH level of 11 and is safe for any kind of swimming pool. Lithium Hypochlorite is calcium free. It will not harm swimming pool liners.

Granular chlorine is the cheapest way for you to sanitize your swimming pool. There is not a better pool chemical out there for you to use to purify your water and keep it safe.

To use granular chlorine, you typically simply dissolve it in a bucket of water and then pour it into your spa or swimming pool. It is safe to use daily if needed or weekly (test your pool water using a pool test kit to find out whether or not you need to add chlorine. It can be used in above ground or in ground pools. Be sure to follow the directions on the label and follow all of the safety precautions when using any type of pool chemical. Make sure that you store all of your pool chemicals properly and keep them out of the reach of children and animals.

If you want to keep your family and friends safe in your swimming pool, granular chlorine is an excellent chlorine option. You want your loved ones to swim in water that is sanitized and free of germs, bacteria and other microorganisms that can make them sick. Granular chlorine is a safe and easy way to keep your swimming pool water sanitized and clean.
