Grand Rapids Used Truck Buyers Will Be Impressed With New Jeep Model

By:

If you thought Jeep was just about maintaining an image and doing mud better than anyone else, you would be wrong. Chrysler has cemented the Jeep not only as one of the toughest vehicles on the road, but now one of the most powerful.

Your Grand Rapids used truck dealer is thrilled with the reveal of the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, which Chrysler has dubbed the most powerful Jeep vehicle ever. The best part is that it will be available later this fall, so its not one of those teaser reveals where we wont see it in the showroom for a year or two and by then weve forgotten about it.

Chrysler timed this just right; buyers will maintain their excitement and have time to make the decision to purchase the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 by the time it hits the dealerships. We have to give them credit for brilliant marketing and producing a true mud-defying wonder.

And if you want some extra incentive, a really cool perk is that buyers of this Jeep get a day of professional driving instruction from the Richard Petty School. Sweet!

Though the price has not been disclosed, we hope it wont be too much above the current Grand Cherokee line. Grand Rapids family van customers as well as Jeep fans have raved about the latest Jeep Grand Cherokee. Remember, it was revamped last year with the Pentastar engine.

The 2010 Grand Cherokee SRT8 boasted a 6.1-liter Hemi V8 with five-speed automatic transmission. Chrysler opted not to produce this model for 2011, but the 2012 SRT8 will have a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 465 horsepower. It will also be faster, reputed to go zero to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds and run 155 at top speed. Thats aside from what it does off-road.

We dont yet know about the fuel economy, and although Chrysler did release a statement that the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 has a new active valve exhaust system that allows standard Fuel Saver Technology to engage over a wider rpm range for an estimated 13 percent improvement in highway fuel efficiency, we know that none of us will be buying this ride for the great gas mileage. The 2010 model earned EPA ratings of 12 mpg city and 16 mpg highway, so we dont expect a lot more from the 2012 model, but that 13 percent improvement will be nice.

When it comes to features, Grand Rapids used truck buyers will like the standard steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, split five-spoke 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, SRT-tuned adaptive damping suspension and Brembo brakes with four-wheel antilock system. Dual-sport exhaust with four-inch exhaust tips has also been added.

On the inside, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel will wow Grand Rapids family van buyers and the leather and suede seats and an optional sunroof make this interior seem much more high-end than previous models.
