Raspberries

Strawberries

Pelargonidin is the substance causing red color in the strawberries. Strawberries are high in pelargonidin and contain small amounts of the cyanidin, delphinidin and petunidin. Strawberries also contains high amount of Vitamin C which helps in improving excretion thereby reducing the level of uric acid in blood.

Anthocyanidin And Berries:

Anthocyanidin is not just a single substance. There are various types of cyaniding that works together in order to cure gout. You need to take different kinds of berries in order to balance the amount of these substances to cure gout. Berries contain varying types and quantity of anthocyanidin. Blueberries are known to have 25 types of anthocyanidin and many are still undiscovered.

The top berries for gout sufferers are:

Bilberries, blueberries, elderberries and strawberries are best for the gout treatment. Bilberries and blueberries are listed on top due to high content of anthocyanidin. but there is no pelargonidin present in both of them. Remaining two kinds of berries also has five out of six essential substances that are essential for the cure of gout. Strawberries have high content of pelargonidin but it lacks anthocyanidin.

Jams and juices of berries:

Jams are not such an effective way for the intake of these berries. However, if fewer amounts of synthetic flavors are used in the jams and the quantity of real fruit is more, then it can be considered as a satisfactory way of taking these berries. Fresh juices are no doubt one of the best ways for the intake of these berries but a balance should be there in taking these berries.
