If your store is close to the city center then you are in a good position right now. People are leaving the suburbs. They are tired of the hours wasted driving and the money wasted on gas. They want the charm of older houses and the convenience of being closer in. These are the same people that will be getting involved in the community. Instead of money you can give your time. Whenever you do anything involving the community remember to bring a bunch of promotional items. You want to do good things for your community and you need to get credit for it as well. These groups are great to have around because they are the people who live there and are working for a better neighborhood.

Once your community involvement starts you will have more opportunity's and ideas open up. If you have some customized shirts and caps made then people could wear them on different occasions. This will get you tons of publicity and if they are doing good deeds while wearing your logo you will be associated with that.
